Down Syndrome Sligo is made up of over 60 members and their families/carers.
They offer various activities and supports to those members as well as their parents/siblings/carers.
They hold regular meet ups, activities and outings, aiming to cater for every age group.
Down Syndrome Sligo are run by a voluntary committee of parents and volunteers. Activities vary but include:
- Meet ups in play centres for younger kids
- Regular café meetups, primarily aimed at adults and parents/carers Kid’s and adult’s yoga classes run by an O.T.
- Information talks for parents/carers, Employment supports for adults in conjunction with colleagues in Down Syndrome Ireland.
- Regular fundraising events .
Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) and all members have access to DSI staff with expertise in health, speech and language, early development, education, adult education, independence, advocacy, employment and research.
