A training to support you as we approach the christmas holidays.

Autistic children and adults alike are known to experience high levels of anxiety. These feelings are often exacerbated during unpredictable and unstructured times. As Christmas approaches, many of ourselves and our autistic loved ones struggle to maintain feeling positive. This session plans to empower participants with strategies to maintain autistic wellbeing.
Topics covered in this session include:
- Creating predictability and structure
- Managing sensory needs
- Identifying self care strategies
Sharon McCarthy is a professional who has worked in the autism field in a number of capacities for over twenty years. She is both a qualified advocate and a childcare professional and she also holds a number of autism and disability specific qualifications. She is founding director of Autism Journeys Training and Consultancy service where she supports autistic children and young people and their families from both an advocacy and educational standpoint. Sharon is also parent to multiply identified autistic children for more than 25 years.
All attendees at events/courses/workshops may be contacted by a member of Family Carers Ireland team as they require information, to be held in confidence, for statistical purposed thus ensuring funding for future training, events and activities.
